The branch and judging panel cannot give you feedback prior to submission. We would encourage you to use peers and professional network for constructive feedback.
Absolutely - but you must clearly reference them in your responses to the questions. For fairness and consistency, the judges will not review any appendices that are not referenced in your submission. Your can include up to four pages of clearly readable appendices – they could include things such as diagrams, structure charts, pictures and extracts from brochures, but cannot be used to elaborate further on your responses.
Yes, pictures and diagrams can be included in your appendices (see guidance on appendices above).
As we look for recent activity, it is not possible to re-submit a previous application. However, if a project has progressed and there has been recent activity on this you are able to use this for a submission.
You may use some of the content however all submissions must use the template provided.
You can only use each submission in one category but you may use elements of a larger project/ business activity to write more than one submission.
Yes, the same template applies to all categories. Please ensure the category your submission relates to is clearly marked.
A judging panel will review all applications. The judging panel will consist of:
- A representative(s) for the organisation sponsoring the awards category
- A senior HR&D professional and/or a business leader from the region
- A representative(s) from the CIPD North East of England branch committee.
The awards are an opportunity for HR and L&D professionals to be recognised by not only the HR and L&D profession but also the wider business community. The awards are a great opportunity to encourage and motivate HR and L&D teams, even in preparing an entry – and even more so if you win!
Finalists and winners receive fantastic publicity in the local press and across social media. Entries often feature in events and publications about effectiveness and good practice in the sector.
